A former WWE star’s contract with TNA Wrestling is set to expire at the end of 2024 according to a new report.
Since his WWE release in September 2023, AJ Francis (fka Top Dolla) has carved out an impressive career for himself on the independent scene and TNA Wrestling.
Francis arrived in TNA in January, and has feuded with the likes of Joe Hendry, Rhino and TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth among others, also capturing his first singles title of his career – the TNA Digital Media Championship.
Despite being featured in a prominent role, a report several months ago casted doubt on his long-term future, with his contract said to be up at the end of 2024.
In a new update, Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has shared the latest on Francis’ contract status, revealing that an agreement regarding a contract extension has still not been reached, with Francis having now worked the last dates of his deal.
According to the report both sides have enjoyed working together, with an extension still being possible.
Tommy Dreamer was said to be the one who pushed for Francis to get an opportunity in TNA, eventually leading to a contract offer being extended to the former Hit Row member.
