After the NXT debut of Jordynne Grace, former AEW star Mike Santana has commented on TNA Wrestling working with WWE NXT.
At NXT Battleground, Roxanne Perez defeated TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. This came after recent reports and rumors that indicated WWE was building a working relationship with TNA Wrestling off the back of this bout.
Then at TNA Against All Odds, NXT star Tatum Paxley made an appearance to accept the open challenge of Grace for the Knockouts World Championship. Jordynne picked up the win to retain.
Former AEW star Mike Santana recently returned to TNA Wrestling after his contract with All Elite Wrestling expired.
In a new interview with WhatCulture Wrestling, Santana was asked about the working relationship between TNA and NXT. On whether he was interested in potentially crossing over, Santana replied:
“Of course, I’m always focused on the task at hand, which is my home right now in TNA.”
“Honestly, this is such a great opportunity for everyone involved. There is nothing but growth that can happen. Everyone is going to grow and take something away from it and benefit from it.”
On what Jordynne Grace has accomplished already crossing over to WWE NXT, Santana said:
“What’s happening now is an exciting time and I hope that it continues to prosper and continues to grow the relationship. Jordynne is killing it.”
“I’ve known Jordynne for such a long time and I’ve seen her career since pretty much the beginning.”
“Everything that she has done since then, up until now, has prepared her for where she’s at today. I’m really proud of what she’s doing. It’s exciting.”
“I’m sure there will probably be NXT people in TNA and more TNA people going to NXT. Everyone is going to kill it,”
WWE has teased that TNA Wrestling will have some involved in the 25-man number one contender battle royal to determine Trick Williams’ next challenger for the NXT Championship at Heatwave on the June 18 episode.
