Following Tuesday’s WWE NXT, former NXT Champion Trick Williams has commented on the return of TNA Wrestling’s Joe Hendry.
On the July 9 edition of WWE NXT, Trick Williams teamed with TNA Wrestling star Joe Hendry to defeat new NXT Champion Ethan Page and Shawn Spears in the main event.
Hendry was revealed as Trick’s mystery partner for the match and the former TNA Digital Media Champion earned the victory for his team by pinning Spears.
This bout marked the return of Hendry to the NXT brand since his debut on the June 18 episode.
After NXT went off the air, WWE posted a backstage clip on Twitter/X of Trick Williams and Joe Hendry briefly commenting on their win. Williams said:
“It felt good to get a little payback on Spears and Ethan Page today. But trust and believe, I will not rest until I get my NXT Championship back. Shout-out to Joe Hendry. All I had to do was say his name.”
After hearing his catchphrase, Hendry appeared and said:
“Hey, you really whooped that trick.”
The former NXT Champion replied:
“I appreciate that. Show me show love.”
The two men then awkwardly showed respect to one another, with Trick going for a fist pump and Hendry giving him a high five and then vice versa before deciding to go with a brief hug.

It remains to be seen when Joe Hendry will appear again on the NXT brand at the time of this writing.
