Following the recent working relationship, former WWE star AJ Francis has revealed the NXT talent he would like to see come to TNA.
In recent months, TNA Wrestling has garnered more recognition than they have in many years after their crossover with WWE NXT.
The working relationship has seen TNA Wrestling’s Jordynne Grace, Frankie Kazarian and Joe Hendry appear on NXT TV, while WWE’s Charlie Dempsey, Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley have appeared on TNA IMPACT.
In a new interview with Tru Heel Heat Wrestling (interview will be released on July 17), TNA Digital Media Champion AJ Francis was asked which NXT star he would like to face in a TNA Wrestling ring. He said:
“I want to face Oba Femi, because he keeps picking on people smaller than him.”
“See he’s a bully, and when you go to prison, first thing you do is you punch the biggest guy in the mouth, and Oba is the biggest guy on the yard, but he’s not bigger than me. I’m much bigger than Oba Femi, so I would love to face Oba Femi.”
“I think it would be a great challenge for both of us, and I don’t think he actually talks like that, so I wanna make him use his real voice Kofi Kingston style.”
On which NXT talent he would like to recruit to his First Class faction in TNA, Francis said:
“Who would I recruit from NXT? The easy answer is Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis, because he’s back in NXT and that’s my former tag team partner, and we do have a lot of unfinished business we never got to accomplish while I was in WWE.”
“But not taking the easy route, I would say Je’Von Evans. I’d say Trick, but Trick got his own thing, but Je’Von wants to make sure everybody likes him, and I wanna bring that dawg out of him, I want to show that he doesn’t have to give a damn if people like him or not, and I think that would be a good character development for him, to be able to show that edgier, rougher side. He’s wearing Death Row jackets to the ring and smiling all the time, it don’t match up.”
AJ Francis also commented on the recent success of Joe Hendry on WWE NXT elsewhere in the interview, which you can read here.
