With the WWE & TNA partnership continuing to make headlines, Matt Cardona has shared his thoughts on what’s going on between the companies.

The August 20 episode of WWE NXT will see an NXT Championship Number 1 Contender Match as TNA Wrestling’s Joe Hendry faces Wes Lee and Pete Dunne for a chance at the title.

With Matt Cardona (previously Zack Ryder in WWE) having made his return to TNA Wrestling on August 1, he has now commented on the partnership between companies.

Speaking to Sports Guys Talking Wrestling, he stated that “TNA is killing it with NXT”, saying:

“I have so much more I want to accomplish. I see that TNA is absolutely killing it with NXT, I wanna be a part of that.

“I want to get back in TNA, especially when SDL, my partner, my property, is marrying PCO behind my back. I gotta go and see what’s up over there.”

Cardona’s return to TNA Wrestling saw him crash the wedding between PCO and Steph De Lander.

He goes on to face PCO at TNA Emergence on August 30, 2024 on a show that will also feature WWE NXT’s Riley Osborne.

Osborne will compete in an Ultimate X match for the TNA X Division Championship facing current champion Mike Bailey along with Zachery Wentz, Jason Hotch, Laredo Kid and Hammerstone.

After around fifteen years with the company, Cardona was released by WWE in April 2020 due to COVID-19 budget cuts.

He would make his AEW debut in July 2020 and has gone on to appear in NWA, MLW, GCW and across the independent wrestling scene.
