The June 18 episode of NXT saw the return of Frankie Kazarian to WWE after almost nineteen years in the latest TNA Wrestling crossover.
With the NXT Championship No. 1 Contender Battle Royal also seeing the WWE debut of Joe Hendry, Kazarian would have more success than his fellow TNA Wrestling star, lasting until the final four.

Kazarian has reacted a backstage photo showing the TNA Wrestling star talking to Shawn Michaels.
Michaels posted the photo of the pair on Twitter, along with the caption:
“You just never know who will stop by #WWENXT”
As can be seen below, Kazarian reposted the photo with a caption of his own that read:
“And if you’re not down with that, I got two words for ya…
“#KingofTNA”
Joe Hendry, by contrast, was less than complimentary when he encountered Shawn Michaels after being eliminated.
Kazarian signed with WWE in early 2005 having left TNA Wrestling on February 25 of that year.
His time in WWE was short with Kazarian departing in August 2005, stating that he asked for his release due to lack of plans to revamp the cruiserweight division.
