TNA Wrestling’s Joe Hendry made his much-anticipated WWE NXT debut on June 18 in what would be a short-lived appearance.
Footage from the arrival of Hendry in the NXT Championship No. 1 Contender Battle Royal can be seen below this news story.
Former WWE star Top Dolla of Hit Row, now AJ Francis in TNA Wrestling, shared his thoughts on Hendry’s debut, tweeting:
“Joe Hendry already with more mic time than I ever got on #SmackDown
“Good on ya Kid.
“Bring that title back to papa. ”
The praise would be as shortlived as Hendry’s Battle Royal experience, however, with Francis editing the tweet to add:
“— EDITED —
“Had to edit this tweet because I see even though he got more mic time than Top Dolla he got booked exactly like Top Dolla.”
Francis was released from WWE in September 2023 with backstage heat being reportedly a contributing factor.
The claims were refuted by Francis in January 2024 after his appearance at TNA Wrestling Hard to Kill.
